First of all let's talk about a safety concern and we'll refer back to this later.
You lungs are not muscles... Meaning they do not expand and contract on their own and you cannot flex them if you wanted to.
It is the diaphragm under your lungs that shrinks in the inhalation allowing the lungs to occupy more space... And grows with the exhale to shrink the lungs.
Why am i saying this? What's the implication?
Well... You cannot damage your lungs with the size of the inhalation... You can always pull in and the diaphragm will flex.. thats the only pain you might feel... The lungs will always be perfectly safe because they will never stretch more than their capacity.
Now qigong is basically energy work in china. Like the pranayama kriya in yoga. Qi (chi) is energy like the word prana in india, also energy. What really stood out to me was embryonic breathing... I will discuss other things in the future and will provide some references at the end.
Now this baby inside his mother... Is breathing, but not like us... That's the point of embryonic breathing.
I'll be making shit up from this point because that was my made up technique to simulate this experience.
You want to breathe somehow. But also you don't want air to come in and out.
I was watching some shady channel on YouTube which i do not remember and will never find it again. It has maybe 14 views a video. Anyway i got what i got, left the library or studio after an all nighter and went up as the sun was shining in the park and sat on the grass.
The guy in the channel didn't share a technique he just said this is really important guys, and here was my technique... Absolute madness. I was in pain and transforming while doing it.and and it was beautiful.
Anyway i was sat on the grass, and something told me do this...
I recommend you do it on the grass too
Breathe in fully, and don't lock it... If you know what i mean by lock it.. when you wanna hold your breath you inhale and close the gate... Well... DO NOT CLOSE. Keep the pipe open.
Now breathe in more and more
Until you've had enough still keep it open...
Let the air go in and out as it pleases... If you feel a little suffocated, flutter your breath or move your chest.
Or
Pull even harder... Inhale even more... Do not worry about the air that's not coming in... You're drawing in energy.
***MODIFICATION***
Try to inhale with your stomach after you fully fill your lungs
Once that is done.. try to inhale with the area between the stomach and your lungs, exactly in the area under the upside down V shape at the front center of the bottom of your ribcage just touch the middle of the chest with your hand, you'll find it when the ribcage ends... In the middle of the diaphragm
*** END MODIFICATION***
ENERGY COMES IN WITH THE ACTION OF INHALATION NOT THE AIR. When you pull, you pull.
The experience....
I shit you not... I saw every blade of grass dance alone individually and with the group...
I saw each patch of breeze move the groups of grasses and not others.
I walked home while still doing the technique... I was walking two feet above the ground... It felt.
I went home and my body could not handle it... I was taking support from the walls and bed and furniture so my body does not collapse. Eventually i let go and went to sleep.
This is also a hack that i fiddled with later... In other methods.
At some point you may really really feel like exhaling and starting over... It's okay, do it. But you will be starting OVER. but it's okay.
Best wishes my little master.
